Everyone's Choice! General Election for Kimonos Inherited from the Nabeshima Family

 The exhibition, "Everyone's Choice! General Election for Kimonos Inherited from the Nabeshima Family" will be held from Saturday 17 September 2022 to Wednesday 23 November 2022 at Chokokan, Saga Prefecture.

This exhibition introduces a wide variety of costumes, including kosode, kamishimo and Noh costumes actually worn by member of the Marquis Nabeshima family, the feudal loads of Saga, as well as the most popular items selected by popular vote, and kimonos selected by the museum director and curators from their own perspectives, including design and historical significance.

During the exhibition, visitors can vote for their favourite kimono at the venue or online. A number of valuable works will be on display for the first time, including Furisode with wisteria and peony design on light red fabric or Usubeniji Fuji Botan Monyo Furisode and a ceramil Noh play doll.
