Yukata Pop-Up Shop at Harajuku

Laforet Harajuku

Laforet Harajuku will hold a yukata POP UP SHOP from Saturday 25 June to Wednesday 20 July.
From Saturady 25 June to Tuesday 19 July, Tsukikageya, well-known for its gallant Edomae(Traditional Tokyo Style) yukata, will be selling the Swarovski Obi and Photo Obi series made of silk from Tango at the 1st floor entrance space, as well as tiger yukata in this year of the tiger.

In addition, from 1 (Fri) to 20 (Wed) July, six yukata and kimono shops will be open at the second floor CONTAINER.
From the sustainable brand "dual-mode" from Matsuyama Dogo, upcycled kimonos and the world's first congratulatory gift bags made from kimonos and obis will be available.

Other noteworthy yukata shops will also open one after another, including Antique Kimono Shop Usagi-Komachi, ν:iroca, Otsuka Kimono Shop, Kyoto Kimono Kyo-Komachi and MIKI SAKURA.

Please enjoy the new yukata full of individuality that will be gathered at Laforet Harajuku.

Tsukigageya

Owner and designer Natsuki Shigeta is well-known for her gallant Edomae yukata.
The designs are free and radical, inspired by Edo culture such as Kabuki and Ukiyoe, and are of the high quality that only traditional crafts and pour dyeing by a long-established company in Nihonbashi, Tokyo can produce, the paper pattern is Ise, the tailoring is hand-sewn and the colours are classic white and navy blue.

While stubbornly adhering to the traditional methods of craftsmanship, the yukata of Tsukikageya boasts a cult following among celebrities and fashonistas, as well as Kabuki actors and hostesses in Ginza, thanks to its unparalleled freedom in the world of kimonos.
At the POP UP SHOP, in addition to the Swarovski Obi and Photo Obi series made of silk from Tango, tiger yukatas will also be unvailed this year, the Year of the Tiger.

Antique Kimono Shop Usagi-Komachi

Antique Kimono Shop Usagi-Komachi is a brand offering retro-modern antique kimonos, recycled kimnos and handmade goods at petit prices, run by Usakoma, a kimono styling adviser and kimono YouTuber.
They specialise in what is known as "Ao-moji-kei" styling, offering free and fun kimono coordination that allows you to shine in your own way. They also have a large selection of kimonos for genderless styling.
The concept of this year's POP UP SHOP is "Give your favourite self a luxuary gift".
Why not give yourself the gift of a kimono as an extravagant luxury for the hard work you put in every day?
Staff will be happy to help you choose a kimono that will be a gift to yourself.
In addition to kimonos, jewellry and accessories by AKI KOZUNA, who creates jewellery and accessories based on the concept of "magic full of sparkles" will be on sale, as well as obi clips using Swarovski and natural freshwater pearls with birthstone motifs, and character artist PYOS will be showing retro and dark illustrations.

ν:iroca

ν:iroca is a limited shop where the brand iroca, which continues to express the kimono of a new era, creates new colours. It's characterised by designs, motifs and world views that radiate strong colours.
iroca will present four new yukata, including the fireworks pattern, based on the theme of lost memories and lost summers, and the sunflower pattern, which has become a symbol of resistance in 2022, as well as new items such as half-width obi and obiage.
In addition, guests will include kimono director and charismatic kimono blogger CHOKO's brand C.H.O.K.O, accessory brand conoco, which is for the adults for whom the usual cute isn't enough, and strange stretch records, which recycles damaged vinyl records and is commonly known as a record bender, adds real colours to the modern age.

Otsuka Kimono Shop

Otsuka Kimono Shop is a select shop in Yasaka, Kyoto, which offers kimonos for everyday fashion under the concept of "a kimono shop that makes you want to wear kimonos". The new original yukatas for 2022 will be unvailed.
Other items on sale include Persian pattern half-width obi and aokiyuri accessories. The shop offers kimonos in gentle shades and geometric patterns, with a natural atmosphere that blends in with the city.
An "Ohakimono (shoes) BAR" is also held, where you can order your favourite zori. At Laforet Harajuku, you can have your very own pair of zori made by Asakusa zor icraftsmen, one by one, from a stand.

Kyoto Kimono Kyo-Komachi

Kyoto Kimono Kyo-Komachi is a kimono shop offering a new sense of co-ordination that Edo and present, combining a collection of kimonos and yukatas that only a long-established shop can offer with seasonal accessories.
A total of one million items have been sold, offering the joy of wearing kimonos and yukatas freely and without being bound by the concepts of the times through its products.
Kimono concierge @ayako.m and other staff members will also be on hand to offer advice on dressing during the event.

dual-mode

dual-mode is a sustainable brand from Dogo, Matsuyama, which creates products by infusing new ideas and designs into traditional Japanese kimonos and obis.
The name of the brand reflects the desire to pass on a rich kimono culture with two and many facets to the future. 
In order to carry on kimono culture into the future, various items such as congratulatory bags, kimono dresses, kimono sarouel trousers, obi bags, drawstring bags with family crests, etc. are individually handmade by craftspeople to create unique product.
The company also aims to create a recycling-oriented business through upcycling, and will sell the world's first congratulatory bags made from kimono and obi at the POP UP SHOP.

MIKI SAKURA

MIKI SAKURA is a brand full of items that women find exciting, such as lace kimonos and obis, based on the concept of a dignified woman surrounded by beautiful kaori (scent).
The POP UP SHOP will feature lace kimonos and lace from brands that don't have shops, such as MIKI SAKURA and homsure, as well as many one-off items by artists, including headdresses, hairpins, micelle hemsocks, small items and accessories.
