Grand Opening of "Asakusa Yokocho" on 1 July

The Asakusa area is full of traditional district's atmosphere. The area is attractive for its historic spots and streets that retain a good old sense of Tokyo.

Asakusa Yokochi, a new attraction combining Japanese festivals and food and drink, will open in this Asakusa area on 1 July.

A bustling side street, full of glittering decorations and signs, like celebrative occasions. This is food entertainment with the exciting sensations that festivals can offer. A number of festive events are canceled due to the coronavirus crisis. With many people looking for a break from their long stay-at-home life, this is a place full of hope.

Street performers enliven the bar on a daily basis, and on weekends the bar heats up with Yosakoi, Awaodori and Bon dances.

An opening event will be held on 1 July.
The Asakusa area is instantly enveloped in a festival mood, with the Asakusa Sun Carnival parading throughout Asakusa and the street performance Foot-Long Clowns, surrounded by a lively Yosakoi.

Of course, a number of attractive restaurants will be also available. Chicken and small plates restaurant Yura Yura offers a wide variety of skewers, mainly simply seasoned chicken skin grill, as well as vegetable skewers and fried chicken.

Asakusa Sushi Sushinjuku offers mainly Edo-mae sushi using fresh ingredients, as well as Ate-maki and Bae-maki sushirolls with a twist. The space where you can enjoy sushi as casually as nibbles is great for drinkers.

A restaurant offer an easy way to eat eel, which is said to be good for relieving summer fatigue. The signature dish, eel skewers, is a must-try.
