Umeda Yukata Festival, For the First Time in Three Years!

 The theme of this year's event is "wanna meet in yukata". Aiming to create an opportunity for visitors and locals to meet each other, a variety of contents will be developed for the enjoyment of town walks.
In particular, the Mood of stamping yukata and Hyper Engawa Veranda will be held for the first time on 30 and 31 July (Saturday and Sunday).

Furthermore, various events at special venues in Umeda and the standard content, Umeda Uchimizu Sprinkle water (only on 30th) will be held to liven up the event.
This year, there will be no Yukata Bon Dance at Umekita Square.

Over the course of a month, commercial establishments and shops in the Umeda area will also offer hospitality in the form of decorations and enjoy a social media photo campaign.

Event Summary

Main event

Period: 30 (Sat) and 31 (Sun) July.

- the Mood of stamping yukata

Walk around the town and get your own Yukata-patterned tenugui towel.

This is a hands-on project (chargeable) where participants walk around the Umeda area and make your own yukata-patterned towel by pressing stamps made with a local kindergarten onto a towel made using traditional Osaka techniques.

- Hyper Engawa Veranda

Talk sessions by people involved in the city of Umeda.

A total of 20 speakers from a variety of genres will hold talk sessions on the theme of "Japanese culture, SDGs and urban development" at three different venues.

- Umeda Uchimizu Sprinkle water

From 4pm on Saturday 30 July, water will be sprinkled simultaneously at four different venues.
Those who take part will receive a drink. *Three is a limit to the number of drinks.
