Moyoco Anno's kimono production unit Hyakuyodo Holds Pop-up

Isetan Shinjuku

The highly successful pop-up store at Isetan Shinjuku is back again this year!

Kimono production unit Hyakuyodo was set up by manga artist Moyoco Anno. The number of items is increasing and becoming more and more substantial.

Moyoco Anno has published manga with wonderful and realistic depictions of kimonos, such as the famous manga Sakuran, set in Yoshiwara, Edo (Former name of Tokyo), and is also a great kimono lover herself.

Inspired by antique kimonos and old designs, the original kimonos and obi belts are traditional Japanese motifs, but the use and placement of colours give them a modern feel.

Usually sold through the online shop, the pop-up will be held at Isetan Shinjuku following last year!

After all, it's nice to be able to see if those kimonos look good on you in person.
